Solar Attic Fan Installation on Tile Roof

Installing a solar attic fan onto a tile roof can be very challenging. There are typically two options for ventilating a home with a tile roof.

• Curb Fan. This method requires the installer to cut out a section of tile, build a square base, then mount the fan on top of the curb base. Installation Instructions

• Gable Fan. This method is less intrusive than the curb base option. The gable fan can be mounted on the inside of the attic underneath an existing passive vent. The solar panel is then mounted in a sunny area on the roof using small mounting brackets. Installation Instructions
